You Don't Want To Miss The Blue Angels Homecoming Show!
Every year the Blue Angels come home to NAS Pensacola for their final performance of the season — and every year it's the biggest air show Pensacola puts on. The Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show is a different event than the weekly practice sessions. Full show programming, massive crowds on shore, and two consecutive days of flying over Pensacola Bay. And the best seat in the house is still the one nobody on land can get — anchored out on the water directly under the flight path.
Sand Island Boat Rentals has pontoon boats available for both show days — Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7, 2026. Whether you want to take the helm yourself or have one of our local captains handle the navigation, we have an option that works for your group.
Why Homecoming Is Different
The Blue Angels practice every Tuesday and Wednesday out of NAS Pensacola from spring through fall — and those practice sessions are genuinely impressive. But Homecoming is the season finale. It's the full show, with the full performance program, in front of a crowd that fills the beaches, rooftops, and viewing areas across the city. It's the event the Blue Angels themselves look forward to all year — flying over their home base, their hometown, for the last time before the off-season.
From the water, the experience is something else entirely. The jets perform maneuvers over Pensacola Bay, which means a boat anchored in the bay isn't watching from the side — it's positioned directly under the flight path. The low solo passes, the diamond formation breaks, the opposing passes — all of it happening overhead with nothing between you and the aircraft but open sky. No buildings to crane around, no crowds pressing in. Just your group, the boat, and six F/A-18 Super Hornets doing what they do best.
Two Ways to Watch from the Water
Self-Guided Pontoon Rental
Rent one of our pontoons and head out on your own terms. Our boats are comfortable, easy to handle, and fit up to 12 passengers — plenty of room for a Homecoming crew. No boating experience required. We'll point you toward the best viewing position before you leave the dock, and you'll have the freedom to anchor wherever feels right and spend the morning at your own pace before and after the show.
For the best vantage point, aim for the stretch of water between the Pensacola Beach Bridge and the NAS Pensacola lighthouse. Get anchored before the show starts and you'll have a front-row view with room to move around the boat.
Captained Rental
Prefer to sit back and let someone else handle the boat? Book a captained rental and one of our local captains will take care of navigation, positioning, and getting your group anchored in the right spot before the show begins. Our captains know these waters and know exactly where to be for the best view — so you can focus on the show instead of the boat. A captained rental is also a great option for larger groups or anyone who wants a more guided, hands-off experience on the water.
Homecoming Weekend Is a Full Pensacola Event
The Blue Angels Homecoming Show doesn't arrive alone. The weekend of November 6–8 also overlaps with the Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival in downtown Pensacola — one of the top-ranked outdoor arts festivals in the Southeast — and the tail end of Foo Foo Fest, Pensacola's citywide arts and culture festival running October 29 through November 9. If you're traveling in from outside the area, this is one of the best weekends of the year to be in Pensacola, with water, art, music, and aerobatics all on the same weekend.
Book Early — Homecoming Fills Up
The Blue Angels Homecoming Show brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to Pensacola over the two-day weekend. Boat availability goes fast — especially on Saturday. If Homecoming weekend is on your calendar, lock in your rental now so your spot on the water is secured before the rest of the city catches up.
Both Friday and Saturday boats are available. Pick your day, choose your option, and leave the shore to everyone else.
